Aim Veakis

An artist who has distinguished himself in print-making, and particularly in graphic arts, Panayiotis Gravvalos has also been involved with painting, which brings out with clarity the aesthetic and expressive capabilities accorded to him by his familiarity with the use of the line and of colour in a direct relation with the design. It is with a specific ideological position and participation in the evolution of society that the content of his work has taken shape; here man, who is rendered with clarity within the framework defined by the purity of line of his drawing, dominates. His experience of engraving serves superbly his disposition towards realism, which is not lost even in the rendering of other subjects, such as landscape.
