Nikos and Giorgos Houliaras: Painting and Sculpture
As part of its autumn events, the Averoff Gallery in Metsovo inaugurates in October 2025 the exhibition “Nikos and Giorgos Houliaras: Painting and Sculpture”, curated by art historians Maria Sfendouraki and Giorgos Mylonas. The exhibition will run for three months, concluding in mid-January 2026, and will be accompanied by a lavish bilingual catalogue with color reproductions of the works, biographical notes on the artists, and texts by the two curators.
The exhibition includes approximately 10–12 large-scale sculptural installations and several small sculptures by sculptor Giorgos Houliaras (b. 1947), along with 60 paintings, archival and other material by painter Nikos Houliaras (1940–2015). It constitutes a visual dialogue and coexistence between two artists—brothers in life—who both made a significant contribution to the artistic scene of Greece.
