OTHONAIOS Nikolaos (1877-1950) “Coastal Landscape”

Coastal Landscape

This painting must have been done on the island of Skopelos, where the artist lived in seclusion during the last years of his life. `Coastal Landscape` is a freely drawn depiction with colors that are accented by the reflections of a morning sun. Unusual compositional focal points – tall and short trees, bell tower, cottage, sea, clouds – create a pleasing impression combined with the impressive dynamics of contrasting colors.
